Mintron Energy Makes a Strong showing in the electric bus battery market and expands its industrial and commercial energy storage business.
Established in 2017, Mintron Energy’s main products are battery systems and battery cabinets for the electric bus and energy storage markets. Having supplied electric buses to Tron Energy for many years, it has become one of the leading electric bus battery system suppliers in Taiwan.
Mintron is a subsidiary of Tron Energy. Chairman Richard Huang pointed out that after establishing a firm foothold in the electric bus power battery market, Mintron has actively expanded into energy storage applications, building a second pillar for growth. Mintron entered the pre-meter energy storage market relatively late, only entering the market in the later stages of its development, and currently has three projects online. Since 2025, it has actively expanded into industrial and commercial energy storage, taking advantage of the significant fluctuations in electricity demand in traditional industries to save on electricity costs by utilizing peak and off-peak electricity price differences.
Mintron uses lithium iron phosphate batteries to produce energy storage systems that meet CNS safety standards. Its main product is a 372 kWh energy storage system suitable for industrial and commercial applications. With its own 5M energy storage module cabinets, coupled with its self-developed BMS and EMS, Mintron boasts advantages in technological independence, safety, and cost, and also aligns with government policies promoting energy storage.
Rising electricity prices are the biggest driver of investment in post-meter energy storage. Mintron already has several projects under review, with clients currently evaluating them. Expected results this year (2026), and simultaneous overseas expansion is also underway. Mintron’s energy storage system production lines and Tron’s electric bus assembly plant are located in Longtan, Daxi, and Xinpu, and will be integrated and concentrated in the 18,000-ping (approximately 4,333 square meters) Xinpu plant in the future.
