System Communication Configuration Plan
Power Energy Management System (EMS) is a cloud-based software system that combines sensors and control devices to monitor, control and optimize energy consumption. Tron Energy provides customized systems to meet the specific needs of each customer, not only can reduce energy costs, improve energy efficiency and minimize greenhouse gas emissions.
System Network Structure
The system adopts the Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) network backup mechanism and multi-connected architecture. Usually, only the online host is responsible for maintaining data processing, calculation and command issuance. When the redundant host detects that the online host fails, the redundant host automatically replaces the complete functions of the original online host in a short period of time, improving the overall system stability.
Systems Function & Safety
The system equipment includes a time calibration server. By receiving GPS signals or its own atomic clock as the time reference of the system, it ensures that the operating time of each device is the same. EMS and each gateway can accept NTP, SNTP or PTPv2 provided by the calibration equipment for synchronization.
All external connections to the network use VLAN channels, and all host access, including ESMS, grid controllers, IEC61850 Gateway, etc., use HTTPS and related security verification such as user account and password and differentiate permissions according to administrators’ level.

The power trading platform exchange data through VPN in communication protocols (DNP3/IEC61850).
